Description
The Steps to a Healthier Clark County Worksite Team offered mini-grants to the 50 largest employers in Clark County to develop or enhance worksite wellness programs. Eight (8) employers were selected to receive the grants based on a set of criteria and ability to sustain the program long term. The employers included the following breakdown:
- Private Employers 2
- Public Employers 2
- Educational Employers 2
- Non-Profit Employers 2
Employer size range was from 250 to over 2,500 employees. Employers were required to implement worksite wellness tools that are best practices. Press release was sent out to community announcing worksite grants.

Lessons Learned
- Once project definition is complete, develop a clear and concise action plan including dates, tasks and accountable person(s).
- Develop criteria and scoring tool to evaluate applications to demonstrate objectivity.
- Assist employers with beginning implementations.
- Hold awardees accountable for evaluations and reporting.
